I have to think about whether the bruises that come from striking seemingly unbreakable wood are worth it. If they are, I go right back at it. In the process, I try block out those other kids watching me fail. I can’t let what they think get beneath my skin. It’s like kryptonite.

By the way, you’re that teacher.
Bev Prescotthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11740042676524971151noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1873889619654138974.post-42670528265692521372017-09-28T17:26:04.651-04:002017-09-28T17:26:04.651-04:00I am tremendously impressed that you're a blac...I am tremendously impressed that you're a black belt, Patricia. It's possible that for years, I've pulled my punches, didn't really make a commitment to my writing, saw it as a hobby. Better re-think this too. Why hold back?Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09921781931159729640noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1873889619654138974.post-16827486554525078472017-09-28T16:11:28.145-04:002017-09-28T16:11:28.145-04:00LOL. I just took up acrylic painting as an inspiration for writing and now I have 2 areas where I can say "crying is beside the point." running out of space on the walls..... "I'm afraid I've lost it," I said. "You haven't, " she said. Just give yourself permission to take some time and walk away. You'll be okay." So I have. Not beating myself up any more. Not going at it with doubt. When I go back tomorrow morning, there will be no "try," only "do." I let myself doubt, and there I was. Punching at that board board, not punching the board. I had my cry. Now I will get back at it tomorrow. I have two books out that prove I can do it. I just need to do it again. Thank you. Your blogs are always useful, but especially this one.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06108715396404430718noreply@blogger.com
